Notice of race available and entries open for 2023 PalmaVela

Palma de Mallorca, January 27, 2023

Notice of race is available, and registrations are open, for 2023 edition of PalmaVela regatta, due to take place off Palma de Mallorca from May 3 to May 7, and organised as usual by the Real Club Náutico de Palma. PalmaVela regatta, now at its 19 edition, will include also this year an offshore prologue named “La Larga - The Offshore Race of  PalmaVela”, taking place from April 28 to May 2.

Registration for PalmaVela can be made online through the website www.palmavela.com. Deadline for enter the event is March 28. Special discount on the entry fee is planned for earlybird entries (no later than February 28). 

La Larga - The Offshore Race of PalmaVela: from April 28 to May 2, 2023 

First ran in 2021 as the offshore component of the PalmaVela regatta, “The Offshore Race” is open to all boats measuring 9 metres or above in length. Race course is approximately 350 miles long, on the route Palma-Ibiza and Formentera-Cabrera-Palma, and another 225 miles on the route Palma-Dragonera-Ibiza and Formentera- Cabrera-Palma. In the past “The Offshore Race” was part of Copa del Rey MAPFRE, specially designed for owners and crews who loved to combine windward-leeward and coastal races with an offshore component. 

As in previous editions, entries at “The Offshore Race” will be divided into three main categories: IRC, ORC and ORC A2. Registrations will take place on 28th April, along with the safety inspections and skippers’ meeting. 

The start of The Offshore Race will be on Saturday 29th April at 12:00h. Prizegiving will take place on Sunday May 7 – jointly with the PalmaVela awards ceremony. 


PalmaVela, edition n. 19 : May 3 to 7, 2023 

On May 3, the RCNP will once again host the PalmaVela regatta, an event now at its 19 edition, open to several sailing categories. Bay of Palma will be see again sails of all shapes and sizes, for an event that brings together big boats, one designs, classic boats and the 6 -Metre class. 

The first classes will begin to compete on Thursday 4th May and the other classes will join and compete until Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May, the final day of the competition.
